    This is one of the most poignant pieces that has been written on Musharraf and Pakistan. I think this is one of the few pieces that has tried to understand the underlying contradictions of the state and its politics. The rent-seeking behavior and the overall structures in Pakistan intensify the long-term impact of the system on the wide-ranging masses.
